Dreams & Nightmares.
Saturday, September 4, 2010  |

Hello, I'm back for the second time of the day. ^^

When a thought or idea comes up to your mind, you will have the urge to express it. Until time passes, and the thought goes 'pop' like a balloon in high air and its forgotten. Before it goes 'pop' I think I should blog it. :)

Dreams
Dreams can be something you go through when you sleep at night, or when you daydream in class, just a thought, ambition, wish, or perhaps just a goal in mind. It can be a weird one, a nice one, a funny one, etc. Maybe its a trip to your friend's house, a car when you grow up, a nice guy to jio you, etc. Let wiki talk ;)
A dream is a succession of images, sounds or emotions that the mind experiences during sleep. The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. The scientific study of dreams is known as oneirology.

Dream and similar may also refer to:
  • Daydream, a kind of fantasy

Ahh whatever. Chim-inology.
Dreams you have at night is not meant to be forgotten. Because, like, last night, you dreamt of you getting a new house. Then, you wake up thinking its nice. Then, you went to school, you tried telling your friends, but you forgot some of it. As time passes, you gradually forget. Then, until one day, someone ask you about it, you might say, 'Oh, have I ever dreamt of that?' Yup. Then for goals, you might want to really fulfill it, but maybe it might just go, 'pop'. People can give you dreams too. :D
I have a dream since that fruitful day and I'll never forget it. ♥ Banana gave it to me. :P

Nightmares.
Nightmares are bad dreams. Its either when you sleep, or maybe, you can say that something that happens to you is a nightmare.

A nightmare is a dream that can cause a strong negative emotional response from the sleeper, typically fear and/or horror. The dream may contain situations of danger, discomfort, psychological or physical terror. Sufferers usually awaken in a state of distress and may be unable to return to sleep for a prolonged period of time. Nightmares can have physical causes such as sleeping in an uncomfortable or awkward position, having a fever, or psychological causes such as stress and anxiety. Eating before bed, which triggers an increase in the body's metabolism and brain activity, is a potential stimulus for nightmares. Occasional nightmares are commonplace, but recurrent nightmares can interfere with sleeping patterns and cause insomnia that may require medical help. Recurring post-traumatic stress disorder nightmares in which real traumas are re-experienced respond best to a technique called imagery rehearsal. First described in the 1996 book Trauma and Dreams by Harvard psychologist Deirdre Barrett, imagery rehearsal therapy  involves the dreamer coming up with an alternate, mastery outcome to the nightmare, mentally rehearsing that outcome awake, and then reminding themselves at bedtime that they wish this alternate outcome should the nightmare recur. Research has found that this technique not only reduces the occurrence of nightmares and insomnia, but also improves other daytime PTSD symptoms.

Studies of dreams have found that about three quarters of dream content or emotions are negative.
One definition of "nightmare" is a dream which causes one to wake up in the middle of the sleep cycle and experience a negative emotion, such as fear. This type of event occurs on average once per month. They are not common in children under 5, but they are more common in young children (25% experiencing a nightmare at least once per week), most common in adolescents, and less common in adults (dropping in frequency about one third from age 25 to 55).
Screaming is also a common feature of nightmares, more often than crying or moaning. The whole situation of screaming or crying can happen from 5 to 20 minutes.

PTSD..

Well, I guess wiki says all. :)
Nightmares will usually be etched onto your mind, and its hard to get rid of. Unless something overwrites it. Something good. Sweet. Great. Beautiful.
I have a nightmare in my life. But Banana's erasing it for me. :D

Dinner was better today. At least she cooked something nicer. My maid. Or, my auntie. Yeah, should be my auntie.

♥ Banana, thankyou for so much, for everything you do. You really my lighthouse. I love you. Thankyou. :)
Have a good night.
